Fire outbreak injures a man at Peninsula Plaza

On Monday, a man sustained burns in a fire incident that happened at Peninsula Plaza. The Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that it got a call around 12:40 pm on Monday regarding a fire outbreak at Peninsula Plaza at North Bridge Road.

SCDF reported that it sent two fire engines, one fire bike, one ambulance and one supporting vehicle to the location. The source of the fire incident was traced to a cooking area of an eatery on the third floor of the building. However, the internal sprinkler system installed in the building was able to extinguish the fire before the firefighters arrived.

People present at the scene had also vacated the spot. Meanwhile, a man sustained burn injuries on both legs and was taken to the Singapore General Hospital for treatment.

An investigation has started about the cause of the fire.
