  • Tea Tree Oil

Those nasty spots from cystic acne that have likely dug deep into your scan can be removed with tea tree oil. Native to Australia, the extract of the tree used in this oil reduces skin inflammation and fights bacteria. Mix one part oil with nine parts water. Using a cotton swab, apply it on the spots and then apply moisturizer on top. Do this morning and night.

Witch Hazel is extracted from a shrub, which is native to North America. It contains tannins, a substance that is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. This substance is also used in many beauty products. This herb extract can help fight bacteria on the skin that aggravates scars. Simply add one cup of water and 1 tables witch hazel in a saucepan. Let it simmer for 30 minutes and then cook for 10 more minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes. You can store this liquid in a container for a few days. Use a cotton ball to apply this mixture on your face twice a day.

  • Baking Soda

For effective acne scar removal, use baking soda to balance your pH levels in the body. It exfoliates you skin and removes dead skin cells. Simply mix 1 part baking soda with 2 parts water, form a paste and apply on the face. Leave it for a minute and then wash your face.
